Mr. Marvis is currently CEO & Co-Founder of QYOU Media Inc., (http://qyoumedia.com) a publicly held company (TSXV: QYOU OTCQB: QYOUF) which operates in India and the United States producing and distributing content created by social media stars and digital content creators. In India, the company’s flagship brand, The Q, curates, produces and distributes premium content including television networks and VOD for cable and satellite television, OTT and mobile platforms. QYOU Media’s India based influencer marketing division, Chtrbox, is among the leading influencer marketing platforms in India for connecting brands and social media influencers. In the United States, the company creates and manages influencer marketing campaigns for major film studios, game publishers and brands. Founded and created by industry veterans from Lionsgate, MTV, Disney and Sony, QYOU Media’s millennial and Gen Z-focused content reaches more than one billion consumers around the world every month.
Mr. Marvis previously served as Lionsgate’s (NYSE: LGF) President of Digital Media, where he helped pioneer the company’s broad spectrum of digital distribution agreements. In addition, while at Lionsgate Mr. Marvis successfully launched original content channels, series and games in partnership with YouTube, Hulu and Machinima, many of which formed the basis of the digitally distributed series that are being
developed by major studios today.
Prior to joining Lionsgate, Mr. Marvis was Co-Founder and CEO of CinemaNow, a globally recognized innovator in digital entertainment technology and distribution. CinemaNow was launched in June 1999 and created many of the AVOD, SVOD, TVOD and EST models that are now used by companies from Netflix and HBO to YouTube and Amazon.
Mr. Marvis also served as President of publicly held CD-Rom game developer 7th Level (NASDAQ: SEVL) and helped lead their successful restructuring into delivery of web based technology applications with partners from Microsoft to Bandai.
From 1983 to 1994 Mr. Marvis was Co-Founder and CEO of The Company, an award winning and highly regarded production house for music videos and concerts. He and his partner, legendary director Wayne Isham, were awarded MTV’s prestigious Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award honoring lifetime achievement in their work in 1991.
Mr. Marvis began his career as a documentary producer and includes 105 half hour episodes of New! Animal World for the Disney Channel among his numerous credits.
Mr. Marvis is a frequent speaker at industry events as an expert in the merging of traditional and digital media and has served on numerous boards including CinemaNow, JumpTV (now Neulion), 7th Level and QYOU Media. He is a graduate with honors from UCLA with a BFA in Motion Picture and Television Production
