Fazil is a strategy and sustainability professional with over 15 years of experience in the domains of energy transition, climate change and sustainability. He has led some of Middle East region’s iconic and first of its kind projects when it comes to decarbonization, integrated energy strategy, green economy, carbon markets, sustainable finance and ESG strategies for leading governments, asset managers and corporates.

Fazil holds an M.Sc. in Electrical Power Engineering from Masdar Institute of Science and Technology at Abu Dhabi in collaboration with Massachusetts Institute of Technology (USA). He is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Energy Manager (CEM) and a Certified Measuring and Verification Professional (CMVP). He is one of the first International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) scholars and was awarded ‘Young Future Energy Leader (YFEL)’ by Masdar. Fazil introduced the concept of ‘Demand Response Mismatch’ to the research world, which is published in the IEEE Journal of Smart grids.
