Hari Om Rai, Co-founder, Chairman & MD of Lava, demonstrated his leadership instincts from the beginning as he became the President of the student’s union of his college at Delhi University.

Hari is a serial entrepreneur. He co-founded three companies before Lava. Each of the three companies became No. 1 in the country in their segment. Today, even Lava is by far the No. 1 domestic company with more than 70% share amongst the domestic companies that culminates into a 6% market share in the mobile phone market in India. It is the only company in the world to have end-to-end control over products from INDIA, i.e., from design to manufacturing.

Hari co-architected the phased manufacturing plan (PMP) and the production-linked incentive scheme (PLI) for the mobile industry in India.

He is in advisory board of the government of India for a 1 trillion-dollar digital India mission with a 300 billion dollars electronics mission. He is also on the governing board of the Electronics Development Fund (EDF) and the National Institute of Electronics & Information Technology (NIELIT). Both the EDF and the NIELIT are under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology. He is co-chairing the Electronics and Mobile devices exports promotion council under the ministry of commerce and Industry. He is also in the governing council of the “Telecom Sector Skill Council” and is co-chairing the FICCI’s mobile manufacturing committee.
