President, Mobility, APAC Uber

Pradeep is the President for Uber and is responsible for leading the mobility business in nine countries in the APAC Region: India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, South Korea, Japan, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Australia and New Zealand.

 

He has been instrumental in diversifying Uber’s product portfolio, expanding geographic presence, launching innovative Earner’s initiatives such as Uber Care and driving strong growth in one of the most strategic regions for the company.

Pradeep joined Uber in January 2017 as Head of Central Operations for India and South Asia before becoming the President, Rides in India and South Asia, in June 2018.

Prior to joining Uber, Pradeep was the Chief Executive Officer for DEN Networks, India’s #2 Cable TV Company. He spent over a decade with the consultancy firm McKinsey & Co in the US and India, advising technology majors and start-ups around the world. His first job was selling ice cream with FMCG major, Hindustan Unilever Ltd.

With over two decades of experience, Pradeep has deep knowledge of the technology, internet, media and telecom space. His true passion is in the application of technology to improve lives in emerging markets. He is an active investor in Indian start-ups and a mentor to technology companies in consumer and enterprise technology.

Pradeep is an engineering graduate from the University of Mumbai and holds business degrees from Jamnalal Bajaj and Vanderbilt University, USA.
